SEBASTIAN’S RECYCLING FUNDRAISER

Hello!

My name is Sebastian.

I am concerned about climate change, so I am raising money to buy reusable bags and recycling bins for people who don’t have them, and donate money to recycling organizations.

Thank you for helping me reach my goal of $500.00!

A MESSAGE FROM SEBASTIAN’S PARENTS

Recently, Sebastian has expressed concerns about the environment and wanted to do something to impact change.  Just before Halloween, he came to us with an idea:  he wanted to do a fundraiser to help people who could not afford basics items for recycling—reusable bags, bins, etc.  So, we scrapped plans for an epic Pokémon Greninja costume—much to Mom’s relief—and went with a simple but effective “green” outfit.

While trick or treating, Sebastian talked to dozens of people about his idea and handed out QR codes to help with the fundraising—since you’re here, you may have received one.  We printed out 75 and he handed them all out.

To answer some obvious questions:

  • Is this legitimate? Yes!  And we plan on publishing updates regularly on this site.  We’ll also publish a detailed list of what gets spent (and how) and where things will be distributed.  We live here in Vermillion, so you can always stop us and ask for more information or updates.
  • What is the plan?  What are the details? This was something of a last-minute idea—Dad only learned about all of the details about an hour before trick or treating commenced—so we are still working out all of the logistics.  Some of this will be determined by exactly how much is raised, but we do know the recycle bins we use in town are expensive so we will have to strategize how to get the best bang for the buck (e.g., getting alternatives from local stores).
